Happy May!

April was a month about welcoming change, growth, and reflection. In the spirit of spring renewal, I have been been carrying this momentum into May as I continue to explore a new series of floral paintings. The one thing that I love about this new series is the sense of experimentation and play. I have focused on portraiture for so long, that starting something new has brought a fresh sense of purpose to my practice.

In this series, I have been painting the same bouquet for the past 2 months. As you can imagine, it has slowly decayed over time, creating a visual timeline of it’s life. I have always been drawn to the concept of memory, time, and human presence. These bouquets serve as an additional way to tie all three of these concepts together — memory, as the arrangement once was; time, as the arrangement changes between each painting; and human presence, with the occasions that the bouquet represents.

For more information regarding these paintings, make sure to check out my updated artist statement.

These paintings are now available to purchase through my online shop!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates coming in June.

Best,
